Bolivian Customer Introduces Sawdust Briquetting Machine for Wood Waste Utilization
Earlier this month, our factory successfully finished building a customized sawdust briquetting machine and sent it to Bolivia. The customer runs a wood factory that focuses on lumber production.
During the lumber-making process, a significant amount of wood chip waste is generated, and if this waste isn’t used, it leads to resource wastage. The customer aimed to recycle these resources by converting the wood chip waste into biomass rods for energy or other applications.

Customer background and demand analysis
Client’s industry
- The customer is a local wood processing company in Bolivia that primarily produces panels, processing over 5,000 tons of wood each year. This operation results in a significant amount of wood waste, which makes up about 15%-20% of the production process.
- The wood chips take up considerable space and pose a fire risk. The customer aims to convert this waste into high-value products, align with the biomass energy policy in South America, and address the energy requirements of local households and small factories.
Key challenges
- The humidity and density of the wood chips vary greatly, so the equipment needs to have stable molding capacity.
- Bolivia’s industrial voltage is 220V/50Hz (different from China’s 380V standard), requiring customized electrical system.

Technical adaptation of equipment
- Revise the heating system circuit to accommodate the local 220V voltage, enhancing both energy efficiency and safety.
- Enhance the material of the screw extruding shaft by using wear-resistant alloy steel to extend the lifespan of wearing components and better handle the high hardness of wood chips.
- Incorporate an integrated PID temperature control system that automatically adjusts the molding temperature (160-200℃) to respond to variations in raw material humidity.
Rapid response of supply chain
- Leverage the available factory stock inventory to prioritize the order of the complete sawdust briquetting machine and spare parts (3 sets of heating rings + 2 spirals), shortening the production cycle to 10 days.
- As a bonus, 1 spiral and 1 set of heating rings are included, which helps lower future maintenance costs and minimizes downtime risk for customers.
